Happy Birthday to Us!

Ten years.

Can you believe that we have been here for ten, stinkin', years?

The story goes that Jeffrey, having worked in the wine industry for years, and having closed down one important part of his life and facing unemployment, sat down in a coffee shop with some sheets of paper and a pen, and after filling several sheets with angry swearing wrote words to the effect of: "I'm broke, I don't have a job, I might be homeless soon. Screw it: I'm opening a wine shop." And a week or so later, he found the space on NE 24th and Glisan that would soon become Pairings.

And from that humble beginning, from that piece of paper to a storefront, our shop has seen three United States presidencies, a worldwide pandemic, and so many customers who have had such an impact on us and what we do. From the two ladies who used to drink Friday night glasses at the bar but never bought bottles, who inspired our first 10 for $10 Blue Collar Wine event, to all the folks who used to join Jeffrey and Megan at their apartment for wine and movie parties, to the regulars that continue to drop in, even years after the last time they visited, to talk about what a special place Pairings is - we would not be here without you.

So thank you, from the bottoms of our hearts.Thank you so much for keeping us going for the last ten years. We appreciate you so.
