There's a reason we're called
"Portland's Weirdest Wine Shop.”
Several reasons, actually. We’ll pair wines to astrological signs, TV and movie characters, dog breeds, songs…even your family members! We also maintain a wine geek speak-free zone, because we believe wine should be fun and approachable.
However, we ARE uptight in one sense…
Our criteria for at least 80% of our inventory is that the grapes are organically-farmed, minimally-filtered, and fermented with their natural yeast.
What We Do
Walk-In Shop
Located across from a number of restaurants on Glisan in NE Portland, our shop has long been a stopover for locals and wine lovers. Stop by to see our inventory and visit with owner Jeff! We also have a limited amount of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy a bottle of wine on the premesis.
Custom Events
Miss getting together with your friends? We’ll organize a wine pairing or education event for you across multiple households! Or join the entire Pairings Community for lively discussion.
Portland Delivery
We’ll deliver next-day or sooner to the Portland area! We may even be able to deliver outside of Portland — just ask. We have a 6-bottle minimum for delivery, but if your order contains less, just give us a call.
Wine Club
Our wine club is really just an excuse to share the wines we’re excited about with you. It’s also an excuse for you to buy more wine — for the first 7 days of every month, members receive 20% off their in-store purchases!
Weekly Tastings
Join us every week in the shop for rotating tastings! Examples include wines paired to Ted Lasso, Astrological Signs, Breeds of Dogs, Star Wars as well as more traditional flights like Orange Wines, and Champagne.
Wine Packs
Wine is as lively and versatile as our imaginations, so we’ve put them both to work! Check out our themed wine pack: past themes have included Christmas Movie Pairings, Star Trek Pairings, Inauguration Wines, and more!
How It Began
A brief history of Pairings Portland.
Like many things, Pairings Portland was born against the odds with a little bit of defiance and a whole lot of love.
Jeff and Megan opened Pairings Portland on March 6th, 2013. Locals quickly responded to their playful approach to wine, and the Pairings community is comprised of the warmest, funniest, best people we could ask for.
